stunning
The arrival of some beautiful bronze sculptures to the gallery has caused quite a stir this week.
We are fortunate that internationally renown sculpture Rachel Wood has settled recently in Herefordshire and has chosen Parkfields as one of the select few galleries to showcase her work.

Pigs and Pears, Paintings and Prints
With the Autumn leaves turning we've had a busy half-term week. Christine Cumming's pigs have been snuffling among Pembridge's windfall apples and pears making a pretty mess of our window display.
We have a lovely selection of original acrylic paintings by Janet Rogers to dazzle you with glorious moonlit landscapes on hand made paper with gold leaf and glass bead relief
Frances St. Claire Miller's graphic prints of Herefordshire landscapes entice us to get our walking boots on and embrace this lovely crisp winter chill.
Ros Garratt's hand blocked prints make us reminisce to the simple colour palettes of the 1930s and 1940s with this print of a crack willow evoking past walks along twisting river banks.
So visit us soon for lots of Christmas ideas for gifts (to yourself) as well as to others and see these beautiful pieces first hand.

Parkfelds Gallery Makeover
After a hectic few weeks carrying out a major refurbishment we reopened yesterday and the response was fantastic.
The space has completely opened out with the new downstairs gallery creating a beautiful inviting display area for larger paintings and prints and even more ceramics.
Please come and see for yourself the changes we've made and checkout your old favourites along with lots of new works of art.
The last ten years have seen Parkfields Gallery establish a place as a regular destination shop for art lovers from
the uk and abroad and we hope that our new look will make it an even more successful venue.

Breaking through
Darren and Patrick our builders are finally going to see the light of day after months of refurbishing the cellar.
On Monday we are temporarily closing the shop so the new stairs to the cellar can be put in. This will obviously involve a lot of dust so we are going to store everything safely away for as short a time as possible to avoid too much inconvenience to our lovely customers.
However this could take up to a few weeks so I will keep you informed of progress through this blog spot.
You will be able to see us behind the scenes in the shop redesigning the desk and shelving and supervising the repainting of the interior and exterior in time for our exciting Autumn exhibition.
If you need to contact us in between please either knock on the window or ring or email as we will be here to sort out any queries.
Many thanks for bearing with us through our exciting refurbishment.

Leather and Unexplained Patterns for Hereford Art Week
Lots of lovely leather just in from our saddler Joanna Martin.
Beautiful bags and of course belts too to last a lifetime. All handstitched using vegetable tanned or oak bark tanned leather. Oh and the travel bag lined in dark blue calf leather and perfectly fits most European flight hand luggage size requirements. Perfect to get those envious looks from other passengers holding their bog standard hand luggage.
Next in for Hereford Art Week we have some lovely contemporary artist proof prints from young artist Rose Jones. Based on an exploration of identity using block printing techniques these prints will add a sense of movement and playfulness to any home.
So don't forget to join us for what promises to be a fun week ......
